SERG is strategically positioned at the interface between research and education, the sustainable energy industry, the consumer and policy makers to conduct valued-added research that will optimise system technical performance while returning maximum economic and societal impact to all our stakeholders.

SERG's interest in sustainable energy are divided equally between energy supply and its use and will continue to build a critical mass of research capacity with the capability to;

i) benchmark the performance of sustainable energy systems under Irish weather conditions,

ii) research new methods of integrating these technologies for a range of applications,

iii) raising awareness of sustainable energy technologies and their performance characteristics, through both on-site and on-line demonstration, publication and seminars,

iv) inform policy makers of the potential of these systems to supply energy, best practice for their use and means of minimising energy use.
